Sisters in Sound celebrates the unsung works of women composers living as nuns in 16th and 17th century convents. Discover rarely heard but historically significant melodies from the imaginations of the most cloistered composers of the Baroque era, newly arranged for brass ensemble in an interdisciplinary collaboration between performers, arrangers, musicologists and visual artists. This concert marks the launch of a broader initiative to create a new collection of professionally engraved arrangements and recordings for brass ensembles that can be shared digitally to both student and professional musicians around the world.
Join NWS Fellows for an intimate glimpse into their craft with behind-the-scenes presentations.
Inside the Music presentations are NWS BLUE Projects. Standing for Build, Learn, Understand and Experiment, the NWS BLUE program is a combination of leadership and entrepreneurship training and hands-on experimentation that provides Fellows with a comprehensive skill set to complement their musical training.
